Ricarda Roesch obtained an LLB in „Comparative and European Law“ from the Hanse Law School in Bremen and Oldenburg. During her undergraduate studies, she spent one year at the University of Montpellier, where she focussed on public international and international human rights law. She wrote her master’s dissertation about the „Emancipatory Potential of Human Rights for the Third World: The Banjul Charter, Multinational Corporations and the Right to a Healthy Environment“. In 2016, she participated in the University of Essex‘ summer school on human rights methods. Her PhD research focusses on the gender impact of the right to free, prior and informed consent (FPIC) in sub-Saharan Africa. Since March 2017, her PhD is funded by the Heinrich-Böll Foundation.
